Back in 1984, one man, one camera and the quick conversion from Victorian basement to photographic studio and dark room started the life of CTP in Newcastle City Centre.
We quickly outgrew this start up space and purchased a 5000 sq. ft. fruit ripening warehouse c.1904 in the heart of Newcastle. This new space allowed us to expand rapidly, three more photographers, two lab technicians to run a full-colour processing facility and admin staff to keep us all in order.
By 1997 Digital photography was on the horizon and we were quick to adapt, being one of the top 10 studios in the UK to fully embrace this change.
Eleven years later, with the advent of high-speed broadband it was no longer necessary to be based in the city, so, when the opportunity arose to purpose-build in the Northumberland countryside we said goodbye commuter traffic and hello country life.
In August 2008 we moved into The Studio at East Moor. A purpose built 10,000 sq. ft. space that includes our office, workshop, kitchen, client workspace and racking for over 2,000 props.
It didn’t stop there, with the new space allowing us to take on larger projects, our new logistic plan was prepared to log product in and out; this led to our next venture at East Moor. We commissioned a 2000 sq.ft. storage facility to assist work flow.
We are very lucky to work in such a wonderful environment, the studio facility sits amongst an acre of gardens with plenty of mature trees and shrubs as well as some mature buildings which assist quite nicely when doing outdoor lifestyle and fashion work, together with parking for up to 20 vehicles we can pretty much handle anything you would like to throw at us.
